We visited here on Dec, 23rd, 2018 at lunch time. They have two separate places for eating, one at the...resto and the other at the tent. The queue is incredibly long, and most of the customers come with a large group families, relatives, etc.. For faster service, we choose to eat at the tent. There were only 3 waiter/waitresses available to serve a quite number of tables and customers. It was in the afternoon so the tent was too warm yes, we sweat a looot. We ordered crabs but apparently they are finish. So we ordered gurame sambal matah and kangkung as the alternative. Unexpectedly, the food tasted awful. The gurame was salty already, and it was covered with an extremely salty sambal matah to the point that we cannot enjoy it nor finished the dish. The kangkung was covered with an unbelievable amount of seasonings and herbs and taste super salty. The tea we ordered taste not fresh either. Luckily, we ordered the kacang merah ice patbingsu and it tasted good at least there's something to eat. One interesting point is that they have this fish ponds with incredibly huuuge fishes and tons of the small fishes as well. Ketiga area ini dikelilingi oleh rerumputan dan kolam ikan. Elemen-elemen kayu, batu, air pun digabungkan ke design yang wah ini. Menu-menu yang diusung disini sudah tentu tidak asing, menu khas Indonesia. Walau tempatnya nampak mewah, surprisingly harga makanan disini tergolong wajar dan sepadan dengan suasananya. Nasi goreng kampoeng – 30rb Nasi kampoeng comes with 2 tusuk sate ayam, 1/4 ekor ayam goreng, telur mata sapi, kerupuk, selada dan dihidangkan di wadah tembikar. Untuk cita rasanya sendiri ya standar nasi goreng khas Indonesia. Nasi Bakar Sapi – 35rb Nasi bakar ini nasi putih yang dibungkus dengan daun pisang dan digulung, lalu isinya dikasi daging sapi yang udah dibumbui. Ayam Budaya – 60rb Ayam Budaya, one of my favorite. Warning though, this is spicy! Ya, cabenya itu astaga bikin keringatan dan ingusan abis makan. 1/2 ekor ayam ini diungkep bersama cabe dan rempah yang kemudian tersaji dengan warna kekuningan. Dagingnya lembut dan flavorful. Kuahnya cocok dimakan bareng nasi, but I warned you though, it’s spicy. Cumi Telor Asin – 45rb Nasi bakar si Mbok – 35rb Nasi bakar si Mbok ini hanya variasi dari nasi bakar dengan tambahan ayam goreng. Gado-gado – 20rb Gado-gado dengan harga 20rb probably a bit too expensive disini. Tampaknya Budaya Resto masih mencoba beberapa inovasi menu-menu khas Nusantara lainnya. Menu-menu masih diadjust variasi dan kreasinya agar disesuaikan dengan market, berhubung letaknya yang bukan di kota Medan. We’re looking forward to the next visit dan semoga kunjungan berikutnya dapat memberikan kejutan lebih.
